Headquarters

Administrative Center
Located in Streamwood, Illinois, our administrative center serves the needs of the field ministries with a staff of more than 250 people. Due to the nature of the positions at our Headquarters offices, we are only able to consider local candidates.


Schaumburg Distribution Center
Located in Schaumburg, Illinois, this state-of-the-art facility serves the growing inventory and distribution needs of the ministry. This facility also houses our Customer Service and IS groups. Due to the nature of the positions at our Distribution Center offices, we are only able to consider local candidates.

 
 

Missionaries

U.S. Field Ministries
As a “sending” body, we have over 100 missionaries in the U.S. serving the local church through the initiation and development of Awana programs. All Awana missionaries are “faith supported” and deputized to raise their own support. U.S. missionaries are responsible for area growth, church relations, volunteer team building and training. These individuals are also required to build and maintain healthy relationships with pastors/churches, volunteers and other ministries. Location of openings varies throughout the U.S.

 


International Field Ministries
As a global leader in children’s ministry, Awana International empowers Christian leaders worldwide to train children to know, love and serve Christ. Through partnerships and leader-networking, we equip local churches with the training and resources necessary to run an effective Awana program. The ministry of Awana International operates through national ministries run by local leaders. We engage U.S. resources to serve both as expatriates in the field or as U.S. based resources supporting field operations and initiatives. Awana International has 150 missionaries in 99 countries touching the lives of over 900,000 children and youth.

Headquarters

Accounting Assistant
We are currently seeking candidates for the part time position of Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant will support the work of the Finance Department by performing a wide variety of tasks including processing department mail, filing, creating documents and researching financial information. In addition to these general office tasks, the Accounting Assistant will also assist with annual projects such as the 1099 filing, missionary event receipt processing and preparation for the annual audit. Additionally, the Accounting Assistant will serve as the administrator for the department email account, occasionally perform some general accounting tasks and support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as needed.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s degree in Accounting or two to three years of related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We’re looking for someone with strong general office skills who is well organized, flexible, able to work under deadlines and is adept at problem solving. Hours will vary based on work flow throughout the year but will average 20-25 hours per week.

Global Story/Graphic Design Specialist
We are currently seeking candidates for a newly created Global Story and Graphic Design Specialist. This position creatively tells the story of the global ministry of Awana and our efforts to engage churches. This position collaborates with various teams within our ministry to help tell our story through print, digital and social media channels.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in design or illustration. We require excellent verbal (including presentation) and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with designers, writers and marketing specialists to create and deliver content through various channels. Must be adept with various communication channels.

Director, Strategic Information Center
Are you a strategic connector? Do you work equally well with people and with information? We are currently seeking candidates for the Director of our Global Ministries Strategic Information Center. This position strategically connects people, resources, and opportunities for our global ministry. Working with key stakeholders and ministry teams, this position creates processing and tracking mechanisms, assesses strategic ministry growth opportunities, coordinates and plans implementation methods, and leads ministry partners, all to expand the global reach of the ministry.

We require the proven ability to strategically analyze and communicate information through various types of written and verbal communication channels. This position also requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to recruit, train, lead and partner with various internal ministry partners to achieve our global mission. Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a ministry or business related field plus prior business and/or ministry related experience.

Manager of Ministry Leader Engagement

Are you passionate about inspiring and equipping children’s and youth ministry leaders? Do you thrive on building relationships and creating connections with others? This might be a great opportunity for you! We are currently seeking candidates for a newly created Manger of Ministry Leader Engagement to join our Ministry Resources team.

The Manager of Ministry Leader Engagement will identify, engage, equip and mobilize children’s and youth leaders to become Awana advocates. This will be accomplished by creating and delivering training in person and online, developing and implementing networking events and interacting in online communities. The Manager of Ministry Leader Engagement will evaluate existing curriculum and work with subject matter experts and other training team members to revise and create curriculum which meets the needs of today’s children’s and youth leaders.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education or a related field along with five years of experience equipping leaders in a ministry environment. We require excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with designers, writers and marketing specialists to create and deliver content. Experience as an Awana Commander and/or children’s or youth ministry pastor/director is a plus.

Parent Engagement Specialist
Are you passionate about equipping families in discipleship? Do you desire to strengthen the partnership between parents and the ministries that serve their kids? This might be a great opportunity for you! We are currently seeking candidates for a newly created Parent Engagement Specialist. The Parent Engagement Specialist creatively, relationally and practically engages parents to best equip them to be the leaders in Christian formation for their family. This position also develops database growth strategies to help Awana influence parents as customers, donors advocates and potential ministry partners. In addition, the Parent Engagement Specialist assists with maintaining active messaging ownership of parent engagement.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry, Family Ministry, Christian Education or a related field plus three to five years ministry experience. Strong biblical and doctrinal knowledge required. Must be adept with mobile communication channels. Social Media Specialist

The Social Media Specialist defines, researches, writes, delivers and evaluates social media strategy for the Awana ministry. Distribution Center

 

U.S. Field Missionary
Awana is currently looking for men and women who are passionate about God to be Awana missionaries serving local churches in their region. Missionaries are responsible for area Awana® Clubs™ growth, church relations, volunteer team building and training in the area of Awana Clubs ministry. Additionally, they build and maintain healthy relationships with pastors/churches, volunteers and other ministries. All Awana missionaries are faith supported and deputized to raise their own support. Training is provided in this area and all other areas of missionary service.

Education and/or Experience:
A Bible Studies Certificate from a Bible College/Institute and/or seminary or equivalent training and experience. Basic Bible doctrine and Old Testament/New Testament surveys recommended. Courses in Evangelism, Missions and Christian Education are also strongly encouraged. Awana Club’s leadership and Awana Ministry Team experience or equivalent training are recommended.

Professional Designations/Licensures/Certifications:
Must be set aside (commissioned) for missionary service by home church, with a Commissioning Service. May be Licensed or Ordained. Valid driver’s license.

International Field Ministries

Awana International Missionary
The Awana International Missionary opportunity is a full time, faith-supported position. International Missionaries are responsible for developing and delivering culturally appropriate presentations to groups and individuals designed to demonstrate the value of children’s ministry and to acquaint the audience with the Awana curriculum. International Missionaries also provide training and ongoing support to churches, pastors, youth leaders and partner organizations which are involved with the Awana ministry.

The successful candidate will be committed to equipping leaders and lay people to impact their communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and will excel in the areas of leadership, team building, training, administration and communication. Qualifications include Bible Studies Certification, or the equivalent, from a recognized Bible college or seminary. Previous Awana club experience is strongly preferred.

Qualified candidates must be born-again children of God with a clear, definite call of the Holy Spirit to the Awana ministry. Other requirements include: living a fruit bearing spiritual life; a person of vision, burden, spiritual depth, initiative and faithfulness; a good working knowledge of the Word of God; doctrinal convictions that align with those of Awana, and a member in good standing of a gospel-preaching church.

Awana International Global Missionary - (Full-time and Part-time Opportunities)
The Global Missionary is a faith-supported missionary who provides servant support and leadership in a specific country or region. The Global Missionary provides ministry and administrative support, coaching, mentoring, training, advocacy, support of fundraising and/or hands on ministry for the local leaders in the country or area in which they are assigned. The Global Missionary will normally serve for a term of one to three years.

Qualifications include Bible Studies Certification, or equivalent, from a recognized Bible college and/or seminary. Previous Awana experience preferred.
