U.S. Field Ministries

We have over 100 missionaries in the U.S. serving the local church through the initiation and development of Awana programs. All Awana missionaries are “faith supported” and deputized to raise their own support. U.S. missionaries are responsible for area growth, church relations, volunteer team building and training. Our missionaries focus on building and maintaining healthy relationships with pastors, church leaders, volunteers and other ministries. Location of openings varies throughout the U.S.

International Field Ministries

Awana Clubs worldwide reach kids through energetic game activities, Bible-based teaching experiences and small group time with friends. Through a common passion for reaching children at risk globally, Awana partners with local churches and parachurch organizations to strengthen kids in God’s word. AR Specialist

We are currently seeking candidates for the part-time position of Accounts Receivable Specialist. The main responsibility of this role is to enter donations received through our lockbox. The Accounts Receivable Specialist also records payments to customer accounts, and event revenue to missionary accounts. Responsibilities also include reconciling deposit logs to daily bank totals and providing reports on a daily or as-needed basis.

Qualifications include a one-year certificate from college or technical school; a minimum of 3 to 6 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should also have the ability to read and interpret documents such as donation appeals, credit/debit memos, customer correspondence, and procedure manuals and be able to write routine reports and correspondence. Additional abilities include being detail-oriented and well organized, strong and accurate typing skills and the ability to apply basic math skills.

Warehouse Attendant

We’re currently looking for a Warehouse Attendant to join the team at our distribution center in Schaumburg.  Our Warehouse Attendants receive and process shipments, replenish pick bins and track inventory through our online system.  They’re also responsible for stocking and driving a fork truck.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma, or the equivalent, and will have at least one year of experience with receiving and stocking and be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds.

Seasonal Video Creator/Designer

We are currently seeking candidates for a part time, seasonal Video Creator/Designer to support our Product Marketing team.  The Video Creator/Designer will help design and implement a strategy for promoting products through video, including the production and editing of promotional videos.

Marketing Specialist

We’re looking for a Marketing Specialist to join our team.  The Marketing Specialist coordinates and manages marketing campaigns and projects developed by the marketing team.  The Marketing Specialist also collaborates with the marketing team to create campaigns.  This person will develop and support a core group of customers and field staff for survey/research needs and integrate their preferences into campaign tactics.  The Marketing Specialist also maintains budget information, leads status meetings and tracks customer campaign responses.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication or business, coupled with 1-2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Candidates with project management, creative design or writing skills would be considered ideal.  All candidates should possess excellent listening and interpersonal skills.

Creative Production Manager

Our Marketing Team is currently looking for a Creative Production Manager who will manage projects and the creative staff, including some freelancers, responsible for designing high quality marketing collateral, websites, advertisements and books.  The Creative Production Manager will serve as the liaison between the creative team and various project owners ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while making sure that the team has the time they need to produce excellent work.

Seasonal Hospitality Coordinator

We are currently seeking candidates for a seasonal part time (up to 24 hours per week) position as a Hospitality Coordinator at our Streamwood facility. The Hospitality Coordinator works alongside other team members to maintain daily operations in the areas of housekeeping, front desk reception and meeting rooms.


The Hospitality Coordinator cleans assigned areas, performs laundry functions and performs set up and tear down operations of meeting rooms; ensuring rooms meet equipment, furniture, technical and audio needs.  The Hospitality Coordinator also assists with other operational tasks including maintaining a secure, safe and welcoming environment for our employees and guests, and provides backup to the front reception desk.


Qualified candidates must have a high school education, along with three months related experience and/or training, preferably in cleaning or hotel operations. Must also have the ability to set up and troubleshoot interactive technology equipment.  Must be able to work independently, have good communication skills, a valid driver’s license and the ability to lift and/or move 80 pounds.

Global Story & Graphic Design Specialist

We are currently seeking candidates for a Global Story and Graphic Design Specialist.  This position creatively tells the story of the global ministry of Awana and our efforts to engage churches.  This position collaborates with various teams within our ministry to help tell our story through print, digital and social media channels through the creation of collateral such as infographics, downloadables, eBooks and shareable graphics.

Marketing Coordinator

We’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The Marketing Coordinator will help keep projects moving by managing the marketing calendar, updating timelines, monitoring the stock of marketing materials and working with advertisers to place ads. The Coordinator will also support marketing campaigns through analytics and reporting and plan our participation at tradeshows and conferences including handling conference logistics and travel plans.


To qualify for this position you need to be a skillful communicator, verbally and in writing, organized, able to identify and define problems and solutions and ready to work with minimal supervision.  We do require a bachelor’s degree and we’d prefer that it be in marketing, communications or business and we’re looking for candidates with at least one year of work experience in a field like marketing or public relations.

Social Media Specialist

Youth Ministries Curriculum Developer

We are currently seeking candidates for a Curriculum Developer in our Youth Ministries department.  The Youth Ministries Curriculum Developer will lead the development and implementation of all Youth Ministries curriculum and products, assume responsibility for utilization and sales performance of Youth Ministries programs and products and explore and develop new ministry platforms.


Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry, Christian Education, or a related field along with three to five years of experience within a youth ministry context.  A master’s degree in curriculum design or a similar discipline is highly desired.  The qualified candidate will be a subject matter expert on youth and the youth ministry environment, be an influencer and have experience contextualizing ministry for digital/mobile users.  Strong Biblical knowledge and doctrinal understanding are essential.  Prior experience with the Awana Youth Ministry program is helpful.

Seasonal Administrative Assistant

We are currently seeking candidates for a part time, seasonal Administrative Assistant to work with our development team.  The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for data entry, creating reports and acting as liaison with the accounting team.  This person will also work with donors directly to obtain and clarify information needed to process donations and will perform general administrative duties for the development team.


The ideal candidate will have strong administration skills and be experienced working with databases.  Experience working with Raiser’s Edge is a plus, as is prior experience working in donor development.

Director of Facilities

We are currently seeking candidates for a Director of Facilities who will lead the Facilities team and ensure that our multi-site buildings are maintained in a safe, cost efficient, energy efficient manner.  The Facilities team is responsible for performing routine repairs, preventative maintenance, remodeling and construction activities.  The Director of Facilities supervises this team while managing relationships with outside vendors, coordinating internal project requests, maintaining the security of our staff and properties and maintaining property values.


The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and prior experience as a manager as well as seven to ten years of related experience in facilities maintenance.  This position requires strong organization skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage budgets and project time lines and excellent interpersonal skills.

Lead Web Developer

The Awana IT team is looking for a Lead Web Developer to join them in their quest to foster a culture of agility and innovation.  As Lead Web Developer, you will not only craft and shape websites and applications, but will also be mentoring other developers to create solutions that equip leaders and parents around the world to reach more kids for Christ. To help us achieve our mission, you’ll need to have a knack for understanding complex issues and finding creative ways to tackle them. Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should have the following skillsets and expertise:

  • A rock solid foundation in foundational web technologies (JavaScript, HTML 5 and CSS3)
  • Experience with and and/or interest in API driven Single Page Instance application frameworks like AngularJS and emerging standards like Javascript 2015 (Ecmascript 6) and TypeScript
  • Experience with one or more server side technologies like PHP, Ruby, Python, C# or Java with an interest in emerging technologies like Golang and Node.js
  • Experience with designing RESTful JSON based APIs
  • Keen understanding of SQL database implementation with DBs like MySQL or PostgreSQL, but also interested in exploring NOSQL alternatives like MongoDB, Redis, etc.
  • Strong desire to be a technical thought leader who has a mentoring approach to leading
  • A passion for process is a huge plus (e.g., Agile Scrum, Automated Testing, and Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment)

Seasonal Department Coordinator

We’re looking for a part time Department Coordinator to join our Children’s Ministries team.  The Department Coordinator will provide administrative and project support for the team, including processing employee expense reports, coordinating travel arrangements and providing light project management.


We’re looking for candidates with prior project management experience who can see the big picture while not losing sight of the details.  An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required and prior experience using project management software is highly desirable.  Must be able to handle confidential material and have excellent organizational and communication skills.  The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of previous experience in an administrative support position.

Awana International Missionary

Missionary

The Awana International Missionary opportunity is a full time, faith-supported position. International Missionaries are responsible for developing and delivering culturally appropriate presentations to groups and individuals designed to demonstrate the value of children’s ministry and to acquaint the audience with the Awana curriculum. International Missionaries also provide training and ongoing support to churches, pastors, youth leaders and partner organizations which are involved with the Awana ministry.

The successful candidate will be committed to equipping leaders and lay people to impact their communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and will excel in the areas of leadership, team building, training, administration and communication. The Global Missionary is a faith-supported missionary who provides servant support and leadership in a specific country or region. The Global Missionary provides ministry and administrative support, coaching, mentoring, training, advocacy, support of fundraising and/or hands on ministry for the local leaders in the country or area in which they are assigned. The Global Missionary will normally serve for a term of one to three years.

Qualifications include Bible Studies Certification, or equivalent, from a recognized Bible college and/or seminary. Previous Awana experience preferred.
