I wrote Sparky Shines His Light for all the kids in Sparks®. Hundreds of thousands of kids attend Sparks clubs every week across the U.S.A. I thought it was high time we show them more about their amazing little friend, Sparky the Firefly. This story is about bugs – kids love bugs – and Sparky and his friends from Stump Village are the most delightful bugs you can imagine. But more than that, it’s about thankfulness. It’s not a natural thing for children to be grateful; they have to be taught. This story teaches children to be thankful in their hearts for all things.
