International Focus on …Ecuador flag Ecuador
Awana began in Ecuador in 1988; 109 programs operate today. According to UNICEF, stunting from chronic malnutrition affects 26 percent of children under age 5. Though basic education is free, most schools operate on such limited budgets that families must cover the cost of books and materials, hindering poor kids from attending. Only about half of students enroll in secondary school and 16 percent drop out to work.

Volunteer at Returning Hearts September 13 to Change Lives!Returning Hearts Celebration -- Avoyelles Correctional FacilityImagine a prison where most inmates are serving life sentences. Some have not seen their children in years. That was the situation at Louisiana’s maximum-security prison until Awana made it possible for the inmates to be reunited with their children. Many now have the hope of leading their kids to Jesus during Returning Hearts Celebration September 13 on the prison grounds. You can be a part of it by becoming a volunteer!

Seeds Planted in Korea
Are Bearing Much Fruit
 Art Rorheim
Awana Co-Founder Art Rorheim recently visited Korea. Several people approached him to say, “Thank you. I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was a young child because of Awana.” A Korean pastor asked for those in the audience to stand if they had come to know Jesus through Awana. Over half the audience stood. God is doing great work through Awana in the world today!
