Headquarters
Administrative Center
Located in Streamwood, Illinois, our administrative center serves the needs of the field ministries with a staff of more than 250 people. Due to the nature of the positions at our Headquarters offices, we are only able to consider local candidates.
Schaumburg Distribution Center
Located in Schaumburg, Illinois, this state-of-the-art facility serves the growing inventory and distribution needs of the ministry. This facility also houses our Customer Service and IS groups. Due to the nature of the positions at our Distribution Center offices, we are only able to consider local candidates.
Missionaries
U.S. Field Ministries
As a “sending” body, we have over 100 missionaries in the U.S. serving the local church through the initiation and development of Awana programs. All Awana missionaries are “faith supported” and deputized to raise their own support. U.S. missionaries are responsible for area growth, church relations, volunteer team building and training. These individuals are also required to build and maintain healthy relationships with pastors/churches, volunteers and other ministries. Location of openings varies throughout the U.S.
International Field Ministries
We have 150 missionaries throughout the world serving the local church through the initiation and development of Awana programs.

AP/Travel Services Supervisor
We are currently seeking candidates for an Accounts Payable/Travel Services Supervisor. This position supervises the expense disbursement function, maintains tax forms and the AP business systems. This position also supervises the Travel Services function, including adhering to corporate travel policy and maintaining knowledge of travel restrictions, regulations and safety issues.We require an Associates degree, plus two to three years related experience and/or training in an accounting or finance function; a B.A. or B.S. in a related field is preferred. Experience in Travel Services is also desired.

Director of Finance
We are currently seeking candidates for the Awana Director of Finance. The Director of Finance leads and manages the corporate finance, accounting and decision support services departments and provides leadership and direction on budgeting, financial analysis and other decision making activities for our ministry. Responsibilities include planning and developing financial policies and procedures to ensure the fiscal integrity of the ministry and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting standards and statutory regulations.Qualified candidates must be a certified public accountant and have a minimum of five years management level experience leading financial and decision support activities, preferably in nonprofit finance operations. Experience in nonprofit compliance issues is required. This position requires excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as excellent detail orientation.

Graphic Designer (Seasonal, Youth Ministries)
We are currently seeking candidates for a Seasonal Graphic Designer in our Youth Ministries department to work 15-20 hours per week. This individual will develop graphics and layouts for products, logos and websites. The Graphic Designer determines size and arrangement of materials, imagery and copy and prepares print ready files for vendors. Responsibilities also include the creation of charts, graphs and illustrations and assembling presentations for clients and/or supervisors.Qualifications two to three years formal education with a concentration in visual communication from a college or university; or two to three years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have a background in design and be proficient working on a Mac and using Adobe Creative Suite. Must be creative and have a strong sense of design, composition and color. Interpersonal skills, excellent verbal communication skill and project management skills are essential. A good understanding of current printing processes and technology is desirable. Familiarity with Awana programs and products is helpful.

International Finance Officer

Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church, community and home. Awana serves on six continents with headquarters located in Streamwood, Illinois.We are currently seeking candidates for an International Finance Officer in our International division. Reporting to the Director of International Finance, the International Finance Officer manages the international financial planning and budgeting processes, funding alignments and general international business practices to ensure fiscal integrity and financial compliance. The International Finance Officer also acts as a liaison with our international field organization, providing financial system training and support as well as developing and conducting compliance training.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, master’s degree preferred, plus CPA licensure. The successful candidate will have three plus years experience in public accounting or private industry. Cross-cultural and/or international experience preferred.

International Training Projects Coordinator
We are currently seeking candidates for an International Training Projects Coordinator in our International Training department. This position guides and monitors training project planning in order to ensure on-time delivery of high quality training programs, while providing administrative support to the department. The Coordinator assists in the layout, design and packaging of training curriculum and designs applicable communication pieces. Responsibilities also include updating websites with training related news, while tracking data on active projects and coordinating training opportunities. The Coordinator also collects, analyzes, and makes recommendations based on event reports.Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or three years of office experience in a missions environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, be experienced in the use of PowerPoint, and have strong presentation skills. Prior experience with InDesign is preferred.

Program Designer
We are currently seeking candidates for a Program Designer role in our Club Ministries department. This Program Designer will lead Awana Clubs ministry strategy, development and engagement for elementary age children (K-6), including the Sparks and Truth & Training programs. The Program Designer will be a subject matter expert on the assigned age group in children’s ministry environments broadly and in the Awana Clubs context particularly.With other team members, the Program Designer will be responsible for utilization and sales performance of programs/products within Sparks and Truth & Training and will strategize program and product development plans. The Program Designer will also develop and write content for elementary ministry products, leader resources and related social media.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Christian education or a related field plus three to five years of ministry experience with elementary age children. A Master’s degree in curriculum design/instruction is desirable. The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, strong Bible knowledge and doctrinal understanding. Experience serving with Awana Clubs in a local church, including a demonstrated familiarity with Awana programs and products, is strongly preferred.
Applications Administrator
We are currently seeking candidates for an Applications Administrator in our Information Services group. Working with system users and the applications team, the Applications Administrator will analyze current processes, identify problems and clarify system requirements. The Applications Administrator will implement, configure, upgrade and maintain applications and create documentation for applications and system changes. Additionally, the Applications Administrator will be responsible for managing the security and integrity of the organization's data and will provide insight into how changes in organizational policy, hardware and/or market changes will affect enterprise applications. The Applications Administrator will also identify and remedy Salesforce usage problems and perform regular database de-duping and other clean up procedures.Qualifications include a B.S. or B.A. in computer science or a related field, plus three years of related experience along with experience with Salesforce, Excel, Access and other analytics. The successful candidate will have the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively and be able to work well with people with varying degrees of technical experience.

Manager of Business Intelligence
We are currently seeking candidates for the Manager of Business Intelligence in our Information Services group. The Manager of Business Intelligence consults with executives, directors and managers to identify critical metrics and key performance indicators needed to support ongoing ministry growth. The Manager of Business Intelligence acts as an interface between Information Services and the end user to establish reporting needs and provide regular reports and analysis of key performance indicators. The Manager of Business Intelligence is also responsible for data integrity of reporting systems, the maintenance of clear, concise and transferable documentation for report support along with the design, development, maintenance and reporting of all relevant product, service and customer metrics.Qualifications include a B.A. or B.S. in a business discipline along with five years of related experience. The successful candidate will also have a high level knowledge of Excel, Access, Crystal Reports, SQL and other report writing tools and be fluent in statistical calculations. Experience with Salesforce is highly desired.

Manager of Enterprise Network Systems
We are currently seeking candidates for the Manager of Enterprise Network Systems. The Manager of Enterprise Network Systems reports to the Director of Information Systems and is responsible for overseeing the Networking group and the Service Desk. The Networking group is responsible for the design, implementation and management of network and computing resources, including LANs, WANs, Wireless Networks, mainframe and mid-range computers across the enterprise. The Service Desk is responsible for responding to and resolving all end-user service requests on PC and Mac.In this role, the Manager of Enterprise Network Systems oversees the design and implementation of the enterprise-wide network. This includes analyzing ministry needs and current processes and making recommendations for process improvements, purchasing, installing and implementing hardware and software and managing the scope and schedule of projects and project plans. The Manager of Enterprise Network Systems will develop Service Level Agreements for internal and external users in order to provide measurements for accountability and cost. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert on the intersection of culture and technology for Awana, provide thought leadership and direction regarding the use of technology as an outreach tool and maintain current technological expertise.
Qualifications include a BS in computer science or business administration and a minimum of five years of experience in networks and computer operations, along with demonstrated success in multiple hardware and software environments. A graduate degree is highly desired as are MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, CCSE and/or ITIL certifications.

Project Manager
We are currently seeking candidates for a Project Manager in our Information Services Department. The Project Manager reports to the Director of Information Services and is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time and within the scope of the project guidelines. The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project planning from planning project timelines to allocating resources, assigning responsibilities, setting expectations, tracking resources and closing the project. The Project Manager will design and maintain project documentation and create and deliver customer progress reports and executive summary reports.Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field and a minimum of five years of previous project management experience dealing with medium to large projects that followed project management methodology. PMP or ITIL Certification highly desired. The successful candidate will have experience with financial justification (ROI, NPV), strategic planning, risk management and change management and will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational and presentation skills and proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Awana Field Associate – Part Time

In this faith supported position, your role will be to consult with prospective churches to understand their ministry needs and suggest the Awana ministry to meet their children and youth ministry needs.

U.S. Field Missionary
Awana is currently looking for men and women who are passionate about God to be Awana missionaries serving local churches in their region. Missionaries are responsible for area Awana® Clubs™ growth, church relations, volunteer team building and training in the area of Awana Clubs ministry. Additionally, they build and maintain healthy relationships with pastors/churches, volunteers and other ministries. All Awana missionaries are faith supported and deputized to raise their own support. Training is provided in this area and all other areas of missionary service.Education and/or Experience:
A Bible Studies Certificate from a Bible College/Institute and/or seminary or equivalent training and experience. Basic Bible doctrine and Old Testament/New Testament surveys recommended. Courses in Evangelism, Missions and Christian Education are also strongly encouraged. Awana Club’s leadership and Awana Ministry Team experience or equivalent training are recommended.Professional Designations/Licensures/Certifications:
Must be set aside (commissioned) for missionary service by home church, with a Commissioning Service. May be Licensed or Ordained. Valid driver’s license.
International Field Ministries
Awana International Missionary – Military Bases/Europe (Location: Germany or Italy)
The Awana International missionary works with existing Awana clubs at military bases, makes presentations to interested churches, enlarges the existing ministry teams, conducts conferences, events and training in all aspects of the Awana program and manages all military base Awana programs. Travel in Germany, England, Italy, Norway, Belgium and Netherlands will be required of this position.The position can be filled by an individual or a couple currently located in Europe or willing to relocate to either Germany or Italy. Individual must have a minimum of five years of experience in the U.S. military, must be fluent in English, must fulfill the spiritual requirement of an Awana missionary, and a Bible studies certificate or equivalent from a recognized Bible college/institute and/or seminary is preferred. Global Missionary
A global missionary provides servant support and leadership in a country or region by providing ministry support, administrative support, coaching, mentoring, training and participating in hands on ministry in the country or area in which they are assigned. The global missionary will normally serve for a term of one to three years in the international field.In 2007, Awana International launched a new model of training for church youth leaders and pastors called “Leader Based Strategy”. The impact has been so significant that a new recruitment thrust is in process to deploy missionaries and support staff from the United States for terms of one to three years. These new positions are faith-based positions, requiring the individual or couple to personally raise the funds needed for their deployment. Opportunities are available in Europe, Indonesia, Kenya, Zambia and other parts of the world.
Qualifications include Bible Studies Certification, or equivalent, from a recognized bible college and/or seminary. Previous Awana experience preferred. Must exhibit the following competencies: leadership, team building, relationship building, training administrating and communicating. Public speaking and effective presentation of the Gospel is required. Ability to respond to inquiries or suggestions from leaders, missionaries and other Awana International staff members is required. Also required is the ability to effectively present information to current and potential ministry team and church leadership.
Qualified candidates must be a born-again child of God with a clear, definite call of the Holy Spirit to Awana ministry. Other requirements include: living a fruit bearing spiritual life; a person of vision, burden, spiritual depth, initiative and faithfulness; a good working knowledge of the Word of God; doctrinal convictions that align with and a member in good standing of a gospel-preaching church. If married, must have a supportive spouse and should also be called to the Awana ministry.
Missionary/Coordinator for United Kingdom
Position requires an individual or couple willing to relocate to the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland) to work with England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Faeroe Islands. Nationals or former nationals from these countries are encouraged to apply. Duties include working with existing Awana clubs, making presentations to interested churches, enlarging the existing ministry team, conducting conferences, events and training in all aspects of the Awana program and running the national office. The international area directors promote the Awana ministry and develop plans to best evangelize and reach the children and youth of their assigned areas. Qualified candidates should have a bachelor's degree in business and/or ministry development with 10 years experience in a multi-country leadership position. Position assignment in Europe.
