Awana and Child Evangelism Fellowship sign “Memorandum of Partnership”

On March 9, Awana President Jack Eggar and Child Evangelism Fellowship President Reese Kauffman signed a “Memorandum of Partnership.”

Because both CEF and Awana focus on ministry to children and youth, have active international programs and well-trained leadership, this partnership creates opportunities for us to pool resources and experience to benefit both ministries. Clarke Caldwell, Awana's director of strategic partnerships, and Po-Wen Ching, CEF's partnership development director, have begun discussions with senior management on some of the possible applications of such a partnership.

This is a partnership, not a merger. Creating a partnership means that both organizations remain separate and distinct from one another, but agree to work together to help each other more fully achieve the goals to which they believe God is leading.

"Awana and CEF have been working collaboratively for years," said Jack Eggar. "This step is simply a formal recognition of that fact, and begins an intentional effort to find ways to expand the impact of both ministries in ways we could not do on our own — all for the purpose of impacting children and youth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
