Q: Will camping organizations be permitted to register with Awana Clubs International to use the Awana name and trademarks?
A: Awana Clubs International will not license rights to any individual, organization or group to use the Awana name or trademarks to conduct camping ministries.

Q: Does Awana Clubs International plan to provide verbal and/or written endorsements for any camping organizations?
A: Due to liability risk and lack of capacity to evaluate, monitor and oversee camping ministries, Awana Clubs International will not provide endorsements for any camping organizations.

Q: Will Awana Clubs International provide references for volunteers who apply to work for a camping organization?
A: In accordance with Awana Clubs International human resources policies, Awana Clubs International will confirm if an individual has prior experience serving as volunteers in the Awana Clubs International camping ministry and the dates of service but will not provide a detailed reference.

Q: If an individual has prior experience serving as a volunteer in the Awana Clubs International camping ministry, can Awana Clubs International disclose that individual’s child protection training and screening records?
A: In compliance with federal and state laws, Awana Clubs International does not disclose screening or training information.

Q: Will camping organizations that rented facilities to Awana Clubs International in prior years be permitted to state in their promotions that they used to be a camping site for the historical Awana camping ministries?
A: No. Awana Clubs International did not grant any implied or legal rights for those camping facilities to use the Awana name and/or make references to the Awana name in any manner for promotion of the rented facility.

Q: Can a camping organization use the “Awana Scholarship” name to conduct and promote their camps?
A: The names “Awana,” “Awana Scholarship Camp” and any derivates thereof are registered trademarks of Awana Clubs International. No camping organization is authorized or licensed to use the Awana name or trademarks in any context, including the scholarship context.

Q: Can a camping organization promote completion of Awana handbooks as a requirement for attending their camp?
A: A camping organization can require completion of Awana handbooks as one of the conditions for attending their camp. The camping organization cannot, however, use the “Awana Scholarship Camp” trademark and/or imply that they are in any way affiliated with Awana Clubs International.

Q: Will Awana Clubs International missionaries be allowed to serve as volunteers at camping entities?
A: Awana Clubs International employees and volunteers who elect to do volunteer work for other camping ministries must do so during paid time off and/or non-paid time off. Accordingly, they are serving in a personal capacity, not as representatives of Awana Clubs International.
